The Femme Jet Set Manifesto

Access is information,
not money.

We believe the most beautiful rooms in New York, London and Paris were never as closed as they looked. They were simply never explained.

✦ ✦ ✦
Who We Are

We are the friend who already knows how the evening works.

Femme Jet Set is a private library of guides for women who want to walk into the rooms they've only ever seen from the outside — galas, opening nights, members' evenings, private dinners — and feel like they belong there from the first step.

We are not an agency. We do not sell invitations, promise introductions or keep a list you need to be on. What we sell is far more useful: the map. Which doors exist, which ones are public, what they actually cost, when they open, what to wear, how to arrive, what to say — and, just as importantly, what not to.

Every guide we publish is researched, dated and verified, because in this world a detail that was true last season can quietly close the door this season. If an institution publishes a price, we state it. If it doesn't, we tell you so — instead of guessing. A number you can't verify is worse than no number at all.

We write for women who are curious, ambitious and tired of being told that elegance is inherited. It isn't. It's learned. And the women who look most at ease in these rooms simply learned it earlier.

"The guest list was never the secret. The secret was that nobody had written it down." — How it began
The Origin

It started with one question.

How do people actually get into the Met Opera's opening night, the museum galas, the benefit dinners that fill the society pages? The assumption was always the same: you need money you don't have, or a name nobody gave you.

So we started looking. And what we found changed everything. Most of these evenings sell tickets to the public. Many institutions run young-patron programmes designed precisely for newcomers. Memberships, benefit tables, donor circles, collector evenings — all published, all open, all hidden in plain sight behind language that sounds like a locked door.

When we shared that discovery in a single video, it was watched more than a million times. And the same sentence kept appearing underneath it: "Nobody ever told me this was possible."

Femme Jet Set exists because of that sentence. Our work is to make sure no woman has to say it again.

What We Believe

The Manifesto

Ten principles behind every guide, every calendar and every word we publish.

  1. I

    Access is information, not money.

Most of the rooms that look private are public — they're just poorly explained. The difference between the women inside and the women outside is rarely their bank balance. It's what they know.

  2. II

Every door we teach is a public one.

Tickets, memberships, donations, patron programmes, collector evenings. We never teach shortcuts, gatecrashing or pretending to be someone you're not. You walk in through the front door, as yourself.

  3. III

    Elegance is learned, not inherited.

No one is born knowing how long to stay at a cocktail hour or what "black tie optional" really means. Those who seem effortless were simply taught early. We teach it now.

  4. IV

    Belonging is quiet.

The room doesn't reward the woman who tries hardest. It rewards the one who no longer needs to. Restraint, timing and attention will always say more than volume.

  5. V

Timing is the real velvet rope.

Most doors close long before the night itself. RSVP windows, membership cut-offs, season launches — knowing the date is easy. Knowing the deadline is everything.

  6. VI

    Verified, or not at all.

We check every price, every date and every route against published sources. When something can't be confirmed, we say so. Your evening is too important for guesswork.

  7. VII

Every city has its own grammar.

Black tie in London is not black tie in New York. Parisian rooms speak a different language than Tribeca's. We decode each city on its own terms — never one rule for all.

  8. VIII

The hype is not the scene.

Velvet ropes and rooftop queues often lead nowhere. We teach you to tell the rooms that matter from the ones that only look like they do — and to spend your time and money accordingly.

  9. IX

You are a guest, not a spectator.

Culture is not a photo opportunity. The opera, the ballet, the gallery, the gala — they exist to be lived. Go for the evening itself, and the room will feel it.

  10. X

Once you know, you're never outside again.

Knowledge doesn't expire after one night. Learn how one room works and you'll recognise the pattern in the next — in any city, at any age, on any budget.

Clarity

What we are — and what we are not.

We are

  • A private library of researched, dated guides to the cultural circuits of New York, London and Paris.
  • A map of the public doors — what they are, what they cost and when they open.
  • A behavioural education: arrival, dress codes, conversation, timing and the graceful exit.
  • Honest about numbers — published prices stated, unpublished ones labelled as such.
  • Written for women, by people who believe these rooms should be open to them.

We are not

  • A concierge, a ticket reseller or a guest-list service.
  • A promise of introductions, invitations or a new social circle overnight.
  • A guide to gatecrashing, bluffing or pretending to be someone else.
  • A lifestyle feed built on borrowed glamour and unverifiable claims.
  • Affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of the institutions we write about.
What We Make

Everything you need before the night.

Three ways in. One promise: when you arrive, you'll already know how the evening works.

The City Guides

Designed editions for New York, Downtown, London and Paris. The institutions, the seasons, the four doors to each room and the codes that come with them.

The System

From Unknown to Welcome — the behavioural method that works in any formal room, in any city. How you arrive, how you speak, how you leave, and how a guest becomes a regular.

The Calendar

The season's evenings, with the dates that matter — and the RSVP deadlines that close weeks before the night itself. Free, straight to your inbox.

Three Cities, Three Grammars

We don't translate rooms. We decode them.

New York
Uptown · Downtown

Where the opera, the museums and the members' clubs open their doors to anyone who knows the season — and the deadline.

London
Mayfair · Belgravia · Chelsea

Where legitimacy is inherited, implied and quietly enforced — and understatement is the loudest signal in the room.

Paris
Garnier · Le Marais · Saint-Germain

Where elegance is not admired, it's expected — and a well-chosen silence says more than any introduction.

The Woman We Write For

You'll recognise her. She might be you.

  • She has scrolled past the gala photos and thought, "Why not me?"
  • She would rather spend on one unforgettable evening than on ten forgettable things.
  • She doesn't want to pretend. She wants to know.
  • She's new to the city — or has lived there for years and never found the door.
  • She understands that confidence is just preparation that nobody else can see.

Whether she's twenty-four or fifty-four, arriving in Manhattan for the first time or rediscovering Paris after a decade, she shares one thing with every woman in these rooms: she decided she was allowed to be there. We simply hand her the map.

✦
Belonging is not earned by trying harder.
It's earned by no longer needing to.

The rooms are already open. The season has already begun. All that's missing is the information — and that part, we've written down for you.
